Many Men, Many Voices is a group level intervention program consisting of 7 sessions designed to prevent HIV and sexually
transmitted diseases among gay men of color who have sex with men,
A seven-session group-level HIV and STD prevention intervention for black gay men.
Its goals are to foster positive self-identity, educate current and future clients about their risk for HIV and sexually transmitted
diseases while teaching the necessary skills on assertiveness.
This intervention addresses factors that influence the behavior of black men who have sex with men,
which include the following:
Cultural, social, and religious norms;
Interactions between HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases;
Sexual relationship dynamics;
Social and psychological influences that racism and homophobia have on HIV risk behaviors.
Two culturally competent facilitators in groups of up to 12 clients will deliver 3MV.
